A hot fudge sundae is a rare treat for me, but oh, so yummy! My grandson Landon asked if we could make these while he was on holiday break from school, so how could I refuse? This sauce is thick and fudgy and is very easy to make. The recipe is adapted from Taste of Home.
3/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
1/3 cup butter, cubed
3/4 cup miniature marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream
Nuts, sprinkles, M&M's, and maraschino cherries, optional
In a saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa; stir in milk, then add butter. Over medium heat, bring to a boil; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add marshmallows; cook until melted. Remove from heat; add vanilla extract. Makes 2 cups.
Serve over ice cream. May be topped with nuts, sprinkles, M&M's, maraschino cherries, or as desired.
To make the hot fudge sauce, you will need sugar, cocoa, a small can of evaporated milk, butter, miniature marshmallows, and vanilla extract.
Cook and stir the ingredients over medium heat, add the marshmallows and cook until melted.
This recipe will make 2 cups of thick, delicious hot fudge sauce.
Pour the hot fudge over ice cream . . .
This is my dish, and it's almost empty! Treat yourself to one of these Hot Fudge Sundaes sometime!
