After my Thanksgiving Bread Basket project, I decided that I was going to need a similar bread basket liner for my Christmas table. I went to Hancock Fabrics and chose some red linen-look polyester blend fabric for the liner, and a Christmas print for the trim.
I used my hand-made newspaper pattern to cut the liner. The liner is 16 x 18 inches with 4 "arms" to fold inward. It is shown here cut on the fold. The blocks were fused on to the arms with Wonder-Under.
I also finished the outer edge with a zigzag stitch.
This project was quick, simple and was completed in one evening.
The bread basket is ready, and to fill it . . .
. . . I'll be baking my Mother's Yeast Rolls for Christmas dinner.
